In Spirit

I am always surprised when I find words that remind me of other words and a sort of name game ensues...what am I talking about? Well...here is an example.

Just recently, I made a connection between the phrase, In Spirit and Inspired. Pretty basic, I know, but it goes much deeper than just a simple exchange in letters. Dr. Wayne Dyer has made the connection that Inspiration happens when we are IN SPIRIT...wow, that is a pretty big revelation when you think about it.

Being inspired means to be connected to your spirit, or the universe, or God. That makes all the sense in the world to me now. Not really understanding how inspiration works in the past, it all makes a lot more sense. If you are connected to spirit, you are connected to a much bigger source of energy and creativity than if you were only connected to your ego which is a finite and limited source of creativity and energy.

Why not be connected to the greatest source of creativity all the time? Well, from what I can tell, the ego feels threatened by the sheer vastness of connectedness and needs to feed itself off of fear and separateness. So, it convinces us that we have all we need to survive and thrive, which couldn't be further from the truth...We need to be connected to a deeper source to truly thrive...we may be able to survive on just the ego, but it is a lifeless survival that is without depth and satisfaction.

So, the lesson for today is that our true survival depends on our ability to be "in spirit" or to remain inspired.
